Step 1/2: Install the Samba client

For “Debian like”:

sudo apt install samba-client

On “Centos like”:

yum install samba-client

Step 2/2: Configure the client to access the remote shared folder(s)

List all shares (the naming convention in uppercase is explained here).

smbclient -L //OFFICE-DESKTOP/SHARE-NAME -U ALICE

The password will be asked.

Connect to the shared folder:

smbclient //OFFICE-DESKTOP/SHARE-NAME -U ALICE

The password will be asked.
